HOW THE SHOW WORKS
Explore how story, staging, light and movement work together to create the world of The Last Chronicle

SHOW OUTLINE
A two-act drama spanning 25 scenes. The narrative glides seamlessly, punctuated by one pivotal blackout in Act 1 before the interval. Act 2 concludes with two final blackouts that define the tale's most critical revelations.

The audience & the Chronicler
The audience has the Chronicler lit and in sight throughout the performance. Her presence remains a constant reminder that the events unfolding before us are being observed and recorded.

Height Creates Meaning
Elevation changes perspective. Power and vulnerability can be shown simply by where a character stands.

Lighting Creates Worlds
Outside the blackouts, the production flows from scene to scene without conventional scene changes.
Different areas of the stage can be isolated, revealed or transformed without conventional scene changes
Continuous Staging
The Principle: The theatrical language is deigned to let the audience follow the story while also noticing how meaning is created through position, lighting, movement and transition.
